Who is Gary Gile?
15. September 2009 by admin.
Yes, I realize you could care less about who I am. However, in order for you to relate to what I write, my struggles and how I overcome them, you will need some background. I also realize you could care less about that, EXCEPT that in knowing this you will, hopefully, be able to gain some insights and helpful ideas on how you can better deal with your life and making your ideal day a reality.
I have a BS degree with a double major in Mathematics and Psychology. I studied Clinical Psychology for one year before going on to earn a secondary teaching credential. Later I also studied accounting.
I taught math as well as speed-reading. I have been the Fiscal Officer of a non-profit organization, an office manager of a medical clinic, the comptroller of a small insurance agency and a small printing company. I have also been a Human Resources Officer for one of the largest state agencies in Connecticut. Those are my most notable jobs.
I have also worked in radish fields removing weeds. I have picked up bottles and cans on the roadside for extra cash. I have been in home construction as well as a handyman at a horse farm.
My first wife died of a brain tumor. My second wife divorced me. She couldn’t deal with my two children. I am now with my third wife who has done a great job of putting up with me.
Just over two years ago I left my high paying job (actually I was able to retire from it which is giving me a small monthly pension) to strike out on my own. Boy what a disaster that has been so far. I actually believed in myself enough to think I could succeed.
Now I am in debt for the first time in my life and it truly sucks not having any money. Luckily, I still believe in my self and my abilities so I know I will work through this.
Over the next few weeks I will share with you what I do that works and what I do that doesn’t work for me. Hopefully my struggles and successes will inspire you to do the same for you.
My next post will describe my plan to get myself out of the hole I am in.
This was a picture taken two years ago when I was 60.
