A Conspiracy of Imbeciles
29. September 2008 by admin.
Over the past several days I have been rethinking how best to market my businesses. I am currently testing two main ideas. I will let you know as soon as I have some results.
I just read a very important article by Clayton Makepeace called “A Conspiracy of Imbeciles”. Clayton is one of the most successful copywriters alive today and he was a high school dropout. Imagine that. Well, to be successful in business one needs to know business and economics and our taxing system and Clayton does.
Clayton has learned a lot on his road to success and I trust his ideas and research findings completely. If I had read the same article in the newspaper by a writer I did not know I would not be writing this to you now because I would not feel comfortable sending out information I did not trust.

Subject Lines to Kill or Embrace
26. September 2008 by admin.
I have put up with this for far too long. It is time to come out of the closet and to confess to all.
I am on more email lists than I care to mention and then there are the spam emails. So I get a lot of mail everyday. Why do I do this to myself? A very good question and this is why. First, ever so often I receive some good information and second, I like to study subject lines.
With my email service I direct incoming mail to two main places. One is my inbox where approved senders are sent. The other is my “junk” box. As you can imagine, most go to my junk box. However, I still do read many of those subject lines.
Now the thing that really annoys me and maybe this irks you as well. The subject line gives me little or NO idea about what is contained within the email. A lot of well known marketers use this tactic. I guess they figure just because they are so famous and well-known that they can get away with this. Well, it doesn’t work with me and I am assuming that you are smart enough to not be taken in by this nonsense as well.
The subject line is supposed to be informative enough to get you to open the email. Some poor examples are:
· 120 Comments Already? — what kind of comments and on what???
·
· Frank Kern BUSTED! — Frank is a great marketer and I don’t care that he was busted.
· What’s holding you back,
·
·
Yes, those aren’t the most annoying examples but that’s what I received recently. Now for some better subject lines:
· How To Make Money In 4 Minutes Or Less — boy I need to read that one
· 1,000 Wal-Mart Gift Certificate Survey! — I know enough to not open this one
· 15% Off Everything at Kohls.com, Two Days Only! — I know enough to not open this one
· 10 Exclusive Audio Products For You To Resell — I know enough to not open this one
· Whiten your teeth 5 shades in only 1 hour! — I know enough to not open this one
· *New 36 Hour Window*-To get LIFETIME Your Squeeze Page 3 — I know enough to not open this one
· Paul Kelly Hosts Leaders’ Call noon ET Sat 9-27 — this one I opened because I am a distributor for that company
· Hey Gary, be smart about your traffic exchange surfing — yes I need to get smarter about that
· New Video: How To Sponsor 10-30 Reps/Mo — Yes I want to learn how to sponsor even 5 reps a month and it’s a video (hint)
If you are going to spend the time to send an email, take some time to make your headline meaningful and informative as to what will be contained within the body of the email.
It’s all about communication and communicating in a truthful open manner. Stating that “

Absentee Ballots - Hoax?
25. September 2008 by admin.
I just received an email from a business associate regarding absentee ballots. In the body of her email she wrote: “Hi Guys, I was sent through the
Then I noticed that the original email was forwarded 7 other times. The original message was:
According to Progressive Talk Radio,
The McCain campaign is sending absentee ballot applications to registered democrats
or people that have donated to Obama’s campaign. These ballots are deliberately
misleading and have postage paid return addresses that are for an election clerk that is
outside of your city or town. What this will end up doing is either having your vote not
counted, or if you return one of these, they can get you for election fraud, citing
ineligibility for absentee voting. These ballots are only being sent out in ‘purple states’
and this is a big deal.
This is called voter caging, and is a huge problem.
The McCain campaign is trying to steal this election much the same as Bush stole the
election via his Fla. connections.
Get this information out to everybody you can, and tell anyone you know who has
received one of these ballots that they need to contact their city election clerk or the
supervisor of elections immediately. Also call the local media and let them know what
is going on.
The main stream media is never going to cover this so we have to depend on our ground
campaign to get the word out to our voters.
I also noticed that there was no subject in the subject line and there was no signature at the bottom.
I am mentioning this for several reasons. The Internet is a very powerful tool and used the right way can be of immense value to everyone. However, as in all things there are corrupt people who will do whatever they can to lie, deceive and cheat others in order to accomplish their goals.
Word of mouth advertising is the most powerful form of advertising and the most effective. When a friend tells you something, you tend to believe her/him. The problem comes when he/she gets their information from someone who gets their information from someone, etc.
Well, it’s sort of like that game we used to play where you form a circle and the first person whispers something to the person next to her/him and they in turn repeat the same statement to the next person and so on. Each person is supposed to repeat the exact same message. However, when the message goes full circle, the resulting message is completely different from the original.
I am sure you remember the movie about “Is there a Santa Claus?” When it ends up that there is a headline in the New York Times stating, “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus”, the judge rules that Santa Claus does in fact exist because if it was in the New York Times, it must be true. The reality is that we need to be very cautious about what we read and what we hear because people are not always honest in what they say and do.
With that in mind, we must also be careful about going too far in the opposite direction. We still need to look for and see the good in people and to trust them. Just exercise a cautious trust when you are unsure of the origin of a statement.
Back to my email message. I don’t know if the Republicans or the Democrats are trying to manipulate our voting system or if some third entity is trying to do so. Always be diligent in how you react to what you hear or read. If it is important to you, then do some research on your own as I did with the above email message. Especially, never forward a message of importance unless you strongly feel it is accurate based on your research.
Finally, I could start a rumor that Gary Gile is running for President as an independent and to have everyone vote for him as a “write-in candidate” on the ballot. Then through the power of word of mouth advertising and viral marketing that message could reach and motivate enough of the voters to ensure his election. In the viral message it could be pointed out that if we want to return the
Even with that disclaimer, if this article was to be passed around to enough people, I am sure I would receive more than 10% of the votes cast. The good news, I think, is that even if I got 55% of the votes I would not be President because it is not the voters that decide who is President, rather the Electoral College that decides. Hmm. Perhaps we need to do something about that.

We are Always Selling – Sell the Best You
23. September 2008 by admin.
You must sell yourself first. If you don’t make good on that sale, you will not make good on any future sales as you won’t have many. This is why I said that you need to have your own domain and website.
Take a look at my two main websites: http://GaryGile.com and http://ExperienceHappinessNow.com. There are no products or service you can buy on those two sites. I do give away a very valuable software, though. Both websites main purpose is to sell you on how I think and perhaps how you can benefit from knowing more about me.
Another website of mine, my Blogger, is at http://BlogByGary.com (of course you know this because you are at my site now, just read my original posts and hopefully the rest). By following me on that site you will learn more about what I see Happiness to mean and how anyone and everyone can experience Happiness on a daily basis and enjoy a very good life.
Yes, as I have mentioned in several of my blogs, I do like the referral marketing business model. It is the least expensive business to start and it is also one of the hardest to succeed at. It’s not because the business model is hard to understand rather it is because people tend to not treat it as a business.
When you observe any great sales person you will see that he/she sells themselves first before they even consider selling their product or service.
When you go to one of my other websites at http://YouCanSavePlanetEarth.com you will not see a copy of a company’s website or an affiliate website. Instead you see a squeeze (or landing) page whose main purpose is to exchange your name and email address for one or more valuable gifts.
Once I have your name and email address I can continue to build a relationship with you and if you feel that I might be able to add value to your life, you will want to purchase items I have to sell that will benefit you.
The bottom line is “we are always selling” whether or not we realize it. So always put your best foot forward and start adding value to the lives of others.
PS: Did you remember to sing up for my blog so that you will be reminded when I post a new article? Also note that I have started putting up information on my fuel saving test that I recently started.

To Follow or Not, the Sale is Up to You
22. September 2008 by admin.
I just read an e-mail from Dr. Mani, whom I have been following for some time now. He has some great ideas to share and he does a lot to help disadvantaged children.
Well, in one of his Tweets he posted an affiliate link to another person’s sales page and one of his followers said she was not on Twitter to be pitched to. Dr Mani pointed out that there are no rules on how one Tweets and of course she has every right to un-follow him or anyone else whenever she wants.
Actually, from my point of view Tweeter and every social networking site as well as everything we do involves selling. The only way to escape selling is to bury your head in the sand and what kind of life would that be. The woman that left his Tweeter made a sale to Dr Mani. She sold him the idea that she is not interested in anything of value. She sold him the belief that she doesn’t want to step outside of her comfort zone and that she is more than happy to vegetate in front of a TV set and watch the reality show of other people living a life.
With only 140 characters to express an idea is very difficult, hence the reason for me to have written my Tweet with a “because…” at the end. In my Blog I can say a whole lot more and hopefully come to some logical conclusion. Yes, sometimes I do ramble.
From reading other Tweets, it seems like a lot of people think others want to know that you just flushed the toilet and that now you are washing your hands (you are aren’t you?).
If the truth be told, people really don’t care about what you and I are doing at any particular time in our lives unless what we are doing will help them is some way. This is where the selling comes in. We should, in my opinion, be selling the idea that we have something to offer others and that what we have to offer will add value to their lives (and not necessarily ours).
Of course, I must add that you are selling yourself so at times people do want to see some of the personal you. Maybe even something humorous that happened to you that made you look the part of the fool or lightened your day. After all when selling yourself, people need to know that you are human to, just like them. So make sure you wash your hands afterwards.
PS: Be sure to follow my reports on how I am saving fuel and saving our environment.

My Fuel Efficiency Testing Results
22. September 2008 by admin.
My reasons for using one MPG-CAP and one ounce of MPG Boost:
· The 1st tank recommends a conditioner schedule of 1.5 caps per 11-15 gallons of fuel or .75 ounces of the MPG Boost. From what I understand, the MPG-CAPS and the MPG Boost are pretty much the same thing except the Boost is recommended to use in very cold weather as it will mix easier. My tank is about 17 gallons hence the reason for that amount.
· After the conditioning tank I will only use one cap as they are much easier to administer. If you use the MPG Boost or any other liquid that goes into the gas tank, I would recommend a funnel and to do it at home, before getting your tank filled.
Because my car has over 95,000 miles I also used the MPG-MAX-Pro to clean my fuel system. With vehicles under 20,000 miles this may not be needed. It’s your choice.
I also did not add the MPG-EXTreme product because I have been using a special synthetic oil since I bought my car new. I am supposed to get 100,000 miles from this oil, by only changing filters every 10,000 miles and topping up the oil when it shows a quart low. On my next oil change I will replace the oil and filter and at that time add the MPG-EXTreme product.
My reasons for purchasing these products are two-fold. I have always been interested in ways to improve engine efficiency and therefore get more mpg. Over the years I have read a lot of manuals and reports on how to get over 200 mpg, etc. I have purchased plans and partial kits to build systems to help vaporize the fuel. After all, it is not the fuel that is burned, rather the fuel vapors. So the more you can vaporize the fuel the more mpg you will gain.
Recently auto makers have come out with catalytic converters for the exhaust systems to help reduce the harmful emissions. You would have thought they would have come with a catalytic converter that would work before the fuel reached the pistons, but that would not be good for the oil industry.
Well, several companies have come up with a catalyst that works in the cylinder causing the fuel to burn more efficiently. In fact these catalysts have been around for over 20 years. They just haven’t been actively marketed in the
Now that our fuel prices have gone over $3/gal it has become cost effective to take action, which many wise people are doing. After all, if you could spend an extra $2.60 retail for a tank of gas (15 gallons) and get back $4.50 or more, wouldn’t you pop pills in your tank also? You bet you would, especially when you are also reducing harmful emissions by 75%, and extending the life of your engine (translated to mean less maintenance cost).
For those who want to have their own home-based business and reap the benefits of
· Buying wholesale,
· Qualifying for special tax deductions,
· Having the potential to make a few hundred dollars extra each month;
then this option is available also. If this doesn’t interest you then please send your friends and family to my website and I will take care of them for you.

How to Succeed at Your Home Business
20. September 2008 by admin.
One of the reasons people want a home based business is to gain back control of their lives, to not have to answer to a boss and do things they do not enjoy doing. After all, studies have shown that the work most people do are not chosen because it inspired them. They chose their job because that is what was available at the time and once they put in a few years, it became harder and harder to leave.
People want to feel secure even though often it is a feeling of false security. I have been laid off 5 times in my career. Two of those times were with public service jobs which most people feel are very safe. Well, actually, I wasn’t laid off from 5 jobs. I was actually fired from 3 of them. Saying I was laid off lessens the pain I felt at the time.
OK, back to my subject. Once you have determined what you are passionate for and this will often be your hardest part, you need to decide how you can use your passion to make a decent living. There is hardly nothing that one is passionate about that can’t be turned into a profitable living. I would not have said this a few years ago. Thanks to the World Wide Web you can reach enough people in your niche to do very well.
Next you need to write up a business plan. This doesn’t need to be a legal document or some fancy worded plan. The purpose of the business plan is to have a direction to follow and to help establish that you are setting up a business and not a hobby. This will go a long way to meet IRS requirements so that you can take advantage of many tax deductions that will save you thousands of dollars each year.
There are many resources to help you write a business plan. Simply do a Google search. Your business plan should include short term, medium term and long term goals. Hopefully you understand the power of goals and that by writing down your goals, your chances of success has increased many times.
Once your business plan and goals are written down, you need to determine the amount of time you are going to allocate to each aspect of your business. Since I do not know what you are passionate about, what I say from here on may not fit exactly with what you want to do. I will speak in more general terms. I am also going to direct a lot of what I say to you making use of the Internet.
You must have your own website with your own domain name. The best and least expensive resource I have found is with 1&1 Hosting Service. The reason for this is to give you complete control of your business. Whatever you do to give value to others, you need to build a list of customers and potential customers. You can’t do this when you use a website controlled by others.
You will need either an autoresponder or some form of email service so that you can stay in touch with your list. It is now time to position yourself as the expert in your chosen niche. To be an expert in your field you need only know a fraction more than 80% of those you want to reach. Now you need to begin writing articles about what you are passionate about. Now you see why it is important to do what you are passionate about. It is hard to write about something you care little about.
Plan to write several articles as soon as possible. Then set your goal to write at least 5 articles a week. In some cases you might be able to find PLR (Private Label Rights) articles which will make your writing easier. Or you can hire people to write some articles for you. Or you can search some more and get ideas from others to help you with your article writing.
In time your posted articles (there are many free article posting areas on the Internet) will bring you people interested in your product or service. However, to get prospects sooner you can buy traffic or you can use “Traffic Exchanges” or “Safelists”. Yes, you are probably thinking the same thing I first thought. These require a lot of work and give very poor results. And you would be right if you use them the way most people use them. In a later article I will give you some suggestions on how to best use these services.
To recap:
- You have found your passion
- You have determined how you can use your passion to add value to others
- You have written your business plan
- You have your own domain name and website
- You have an autoresponder or emailing program
- You have begun writing articles about your passion
- You have posted them and plan to write at least 5 articles a week
- You have looked into “pay per click” programs or other paid traffic sources
- And/or you have begun using Traffic Exchanges and Safelists
I realize that if you are new to Internet marketing then much of what I have mentioned is new to you and possibly a bit overwhelming. In future articles I will go more in depth on some of these concepts. If this all seems complicated, don’t worry. It’s really not that complicated. It is a “right of passage” you need to go through if you are serious about reclaiming your freedom.

Home business poll
19. September 2008 by admin.
The following survey was taken on 9-17-08 from http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/Extra/TopHomeBusinesses.aspx
Home business poll
- Would you ever start a business at home and chuck the 9-to-5?
- Yes. And I can’t wait to get started.
38% - Yes. But I’ll quit only after the business gets going.
40% - Maybe. I am researching it now.
19% - No, it’s too risky.
2% - No, it’s too much hard work.
0% - No, I love my job.
1%
- Yes. And I can’t wait to get started.
24433 responses, not scientifically valid, results updated every minute.
The Msn Money website articles on Home-Based businesses are very interesting. If you are truly interested in succeeding at having your own home-based business and escape from the 9-5 trap and reclaim your personal freedom that being self-employed does, then you need to spend some time and research the possibilities.
Keep in mind that whatever business you decide on, you must be passionate about the work you do or it will end up like a regular job which is, I’m guessing, what you want to get away from. You must be willing to work hard to successfully build it.
My favorite business model is referral marketing, also known as network marketing or MLM (multi-level marketing). I like this model because I can find business associates that I can help train and I can be paid for their efforts a well as mine, thus leveraging my time. Of course it is very important that I train them well or I would have wasted my time and theirs.
Referral marketing has received a bad reputation because some business owners’ main goal was to just sign people up instead of helping them to succeed. However, the main reason for so many failures is because many people bought into the idea that all they had to do was show up and within a month or two they would be millionaires.
You should not blame the business model because of poor business practices of a few. If you are willing to work hard for 3 to 9 months and when you find the business model that inspires you then by all means go for it. There are a number of things that must be in place if you want the best odds of succeeding at your home business. I will cover some of them tomorrow in my blog at http://BlogByGary.com.

Don’t Worry, Live in the Present
18. September 2008 by admin.
It is interesting to listen to other people at work, and I did it also. We are always wishing and looking forward to the weekend when we can do what we really want to do. It shouldn’t be this way. The only time we can really appreciate is the present. And if we are not happy in the present then we really aren’t fulfilling our reason for living.
Many people spend too much time worrying about everything and especially about money concerns. We worry about the economy. We worry about terrorist attacks. We worry about whether or not we will loose our job. We worry about how we are going to pay off all of our debts. We worry about whether or not Ms. Jane Doe or Mr. John Doe will still be on American Idol next week. We worry about the weather. We worry about how fast our toe nails are growing. (Just thought I would throw that one in to see if you were listening.)
So let’s take a quick look at what “worrying” does for us. By worrying are we able to do anything about what is going to happen tomorrow? By worrying are we able to change what happened to us yesterday? By worrying today we waste our most valuable asset, TIME. You see, you can not keep TIME in a bottle, as the song goes. We all have just 24 hours each day and then that time is gone forever. Only our memories of the time are ours to keep forever. What kind of memories will we have if they are clouded by worry?
I need to take a short break. My horse is rattling his feed tube, trying to get my attention so that I will give him more to eat. And it is working, clever horse.
Now you may think that I just wasted 3 minutes of my day by going outside to take care of my horse and you would be wrong. Yes, I could have just as easily shut off the monitor in my office and eliminated the noise. However, by getting up and jogging the 30 or so yards to the barn I got some exercise. I even almost gave in and tossed them some more hay, but I didn’t. That would be training them to beat up on their feed bucket to get more hay and I did not want them to get that idea.
OK, back to worrying. I know some people will be able to come up with some very good and logical reasons as to the benefits of worrying. However, I can’t think of any. Over 67% of what we worry about will never come to pass. The other 33% we either will solve ourselves or there is nothing we can do about them anyway.
To summarize, when you live in the present you make good use of your asset, time. Don’t waste time wishing for a future date. Don’t waste time by regrets of the past. Do keep memories of the joys of the past. Do make plans for the joys of the future. Most important of all do make the most of the present so that in the future, as a result of your plans today, your past memories will be joyous.

Magical Genie & How to Save Fuel & Clean the Environment
17. September 2008 by admin.
I am paid $1.00 for every Genie that is downloaded from my site and used once. Of course when you use it once, you will want to use it many, many times. Now, that won’t make me a ton of money. It will, however, help me recover my initial investment and cover my monthly license fee. So it is a WIN-WIN for both of us.
Now that Autumn is just around the corner and with the Christmas season fast approaching, people will want the New Genie 2.01. When you look at the video you will see what I mean.
Now, what have I been doing the past month? I have been doing two main things. First, I set up my blog. It is being moved to http://BlogByGary.com.
Second, I have been interested in ways to get more miles out of each gallon of gas. Over the years I have purchased manuals to enhance the functioning of the carburetor and now fuel injectors. So you can imagine how old I am if I know what a carburetor is.
I never really completed building any of the units because … There are several reasons, but mainly I guess the kits were too complicated for my little brain to handle. However, I did install a little fan like gizmo in the air intake. It was supposed to help stir up the air more so that when it mixed with the fuel, the fuel would be broken down more, into a more vaporous form. My mileage did increase a little.
From all my readings the liquid gas is not what burns, it’s the vapor. That is why so much of the gas goes out the tailpipe. It is not all turned into vapor and therefore not burned.
Over the past 20 years several companies have taken a slightly different route. Instead of trying to turn the gas into vapor before reaching the pistons, they worked on developing a catalyst to help burn more of the gas while in the cylinder by raising the temperature. We now have catalytic converters to burn more of the exhaust gases. But that is wasted energy as it does nothing to improve the efficiency of the engine or keep the cylinders and pistons from accumulating carbon and thus wearing down the engine and making it less efficient.
As a result a catalyst was developed that is added to your fuel before it goes to the engine. The catalyst helps the fuel to burn hotter and therefore become more efficient. The results for the vehicle owner are numerous. The main things are less harmful emissions going out the tailpipe and more miles per gallon.
Please go to http://YouCanSavePlanetEarth.com to learn more about the products. If you want to pay a couple cents more per gallon of fuel for the product in order to save5 times or more per gallon in fuel cost, then please consider making a purchase.
When you go through my entire process you will see what I am doing to promote this fuel saver as well as the Genie.
Please note that the company is using the referral marketing business model. I am not looking for people to join me in this business. Right now I am looking for people to use the product and provide me with testimonials as to the results they have achieved with the products. I will put the testimonials on my website if you wish.
Your cost to treat about 150 gallons of fuel is about $25 so the investment is minimal and the results are gigantic. Take a look and let me know what you think. You will need to calculate your current MPG first and then recalculate after each tank of fuel. The results should max out after about 3 - 4 tank fills. This is because the catalyst needs to clean out the gunk in your engine in order to reach maximum efficiency.
