First 12 Days Overview to Set Up Your Affilliate Marketing Business
I didn’t do much with my affiliate marketing yesterday except make a few small adjustments to my website. Several other things came up that needed my immediate attention. I wrote the above on 9-23-09 and here it is 9-25-09. I spent most of the 23rd reviewing my Simpleology lessons to see what I missed. The sun was shining on the 24th , perhaps the last sunny and warm day for 2009, so I was outside much of the day.
I realize now that I did a number of things wrong by taking the easy way out. By that I mean I used the articles provided by the affiliate program I am marketing. The following are the actual steps I should have taken:
1. Use Google Keyword Tool https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal long-tail keyword phrases
2. Choose 10 of those long-tail keyword phrases and write an article on each of them, about 350-500 word articles. Yes, that’s a bit of work. Do you want to make money or not? Being successful does require some effort. Meditating in the shadows of your room won’t make it happen, no matter what they say. However, it will help to keep you focused on your article writing.
3. Visit http://ezinearticles.com and http://goarticles.com to get ideas on how to write and format your articles.
4. Save your articles as text files not word documents. You will use these articles as pages on your website.
5. If you haven’t done so yet, set up your website. Let me know if you want me to discuss how to do this. Otherwise, I will take it that you know how to do this.
6. Set up your webpages for SEO.
7. Write 5 more articles from your list of 15-20 long-tail keywords. Review the Editorial Guidelines at ezinearticles.com and include your bio-box at the end of your article.
8. Submit all 5 articles to as many article directories as you can find.
9. Create a free Squidoo account and set up your first Squidoo Lens about a topic of interest in your niche market.
10. Create a free StumbleUpon account then select sites you would like to learn more about. Select 1-3 topics somewhat related to your niche.
11. Create a free YouTube Video sharing account.
As you can see, there is a lot to do to succeed online. The course that I am taking is walking me through step-by-step. As I mentioned earlier, you need to set up your first one yourself to understand all that needs to be done. Once you have money coming in, you can outsource future affiliate programs you participate in.
Finally, I realize I did not explain in any detail a lot of what I mentioned above and you may not understand a lot of it. That’s OK and that is why you need a guide or a guidebook to walk you through each step.
Once I have finished my first site and have profits to show, I will go into more detail on each of the steps. I have only discussed the basics of the first 12 days of the 31-day course. Over the next few days I will be writing articles and posting them here. After that, I will get back with you on day 13.
