Time and Goals
The Most Valuable Commodity and Why You Must Control It
At one point in history salt was a very valuable commodity and it still should be considered valuable today. Then gold and silver became the medium of exchange and gained value. Now oil is considered “liquid gold” and its value is rising daily. Let’s not forget diamonds which are “a girl’s best friend”.
However, all of these commodities pail in comparison to the most precious commodity of all, Time.
We each are given the same 24 hours each day. 97% of us waste most of our 24 hours every day. Perhaps it can be said that we make good use of about 7-8 hours of our allotted time which is the time that we are asleep.
If we knew the secret, we could even make better use of those hours. More on this later.
We spend another 10 to 12 hours, counting driving time, making someone else wealthy. The rest of our 24 hours are spent eating, usually fast foods aka “junk food” and watching TV or other mind numbing activities.
The good news is that we have a choice. We can choose to be in the “living dead” 97% group or we can choose to live in the wealthy 3% group.
The study also looked at goal setting and found these interesting correlations:
So use your time wisely. Organize your time by setting goals. Make your goals such that they will lead you toward greater success and therefore greater happiness. Always keep in mind that concentrating only on making money will not bring you happiness or any degree of success. You must work on all areas of your life.
