Alzheimer’s Disease

I just learned two days ago that my Mom has Alzheimer’s disease.  It is times like this that family is so important.  I am thankful that my sister is just a couple miles away from Mom and my step Dad.

Yesterday I talked to a good friend whose wife has had Alzheimer’s disease for ten years now.  He suggested I visit the “PlayBook” website at http://www.alzheimersplaybook.com.

That is where I found the poem below. I liked it so much that I just had to share it with you.  As time goes by I will share more with you about my Mom.

Do not ask me to remember.
Don’t try to make me understand.
Let me rest and know you’re with me.
Kiss my cheek and hold my hand.

I’m confused beyond your concept.
I am sad and sick and lost.
All I know is that I need you
To be with me at all cost.

Do not lose your patience with me.
Do not scold or curse or cry.
I can’t help the way I’m acting,
Can’t be different ‘though I try.

Just remember that I need you,
That the best of me is gone.
Please don’t fail to stand beside me,
Love me ’till my life is done.

Vegan Chocolate Chip Brownies?

I just watched a short video about Representative Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio).  One of his constituents asked him what he would do if he was made absolute dictator of the USA for one day.

Now that is a very interesting question.  What would you do if you could be the absolute dictator of your country for just one day? Well, his answer was very interesting, quite surprising and I believe very wise.

This is his answer: “I think I would order everyone to have vegan chocolate chip brownies.”  Perhaps you are having the same thoughts that I had when I first listened to his answer.  “This guy must be nuts.”

He does go on to explain why he would do that.  In his own personal experience, he has been a vegan for over 14 years and has experienced dramatic positive health changes as a result.

Now I don’t know what is in vegan chocolate chip brownies, so I can’t speak with confidence why he selected vegan chocolate chip brownies.  I am, however, coming around to the idea that dark chocolate when processed properly can be healthy for you.  (My wife has been telling me for years that chocolate was good for her health.)

If I was made absolute dictator for one day, I would have everyone eat raw organic fruits, nuts, seeds, and vegetables and then ice cream for desert.  Opps, I am not sure how that last selection got in there.  It must have been my subconscious slipping it in.

When we live a healthier lifestyle we will experience less stress, we will be slower to anger, and our minds will function on a higher plane.  Perhaps we will even realize that we can function better by accepting each others’ differences and allow our neighbor to experience the same freedoms that we wish to experience. By thinking more clearly, with less stress, we will realize that we do not need nor want government to control our lives “for our own safety”.

After all, why should our government care if we kill ourselves by smoking, by over using new technology like cell phones, or by drinking an excess of alcohol.  As long as others do not have to pay for our indiscretions why should our government interfere with what we do.

What do you think?  If you were made absolute dictator of your country for one day, how would you use your power?

Minorities

First a disclaimer: I do not believe our country, the USA, should have our soldiers scattered all around the world, fighting in battles and wars we have no right to be involved in.

If our politicians stopped this insanity, brought all our troops home and put them to work helping to improve our land, we would have saved billions of dollars, much of which we could use to help the poor and disadvantaged of the world.  Note that I said “HELP” not “do for” or “give”.    However, I do agree with this:

Minorities

Maxine

We need to show more sympathy for these people.

* They travel miles in the heat.

* They risk their lives crossing a border.

* They don’t get paid enough wages.

* They do jobs that others won’t do or are afraid to do.

* They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language.

* They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day ~ every day.

I’m not talking about the damned illegal Mexicans ~

I’m talking about our troops!

Doesn’t it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don’t support our troops.

Never Lose Your Grandson! A heart-warming story.

I debated for at least 5 minutes, after I stopped laughing, as to whether or not I should share this with mixed viewers.

Then I decided, “What the heck.”  Laughter is strong medicine and I do believe women and perhaps even tunnel-focused individuals will enjoy this.  There is even a great message in this when you search deeply.

The first person to give the correct message wins a prize. So here it is.

Never Lose Your Grandson! A heart-warming story.

GrandpaMy small grandson got lost at the shopping mall………

He approached a uniformed security guard and said  “I’ve lost my grandpa!” “The guard asked, “What’s he like?” The little tyke hesitated for a moment and then replied, “ IRISH WHISKEY and women with big tits.”

If I die before you wake

I try not to post two things in the same day.  However, this is very good and I wanted to share it with you.

This came to me and I think many of you will enjoy it.

For all you parents out there with kids in uniform fighting for…our way of life,

Prayers are with you and your children…God Bless!

Three soldiers wrote the song and put
this together in their ‘free time’ over ‘there’.  The singer needs a

we can show our troops we support their efforts, their sacrifice
and that of their families.

WW II Battleship sailor tells Obama to shape up or ship out !

Harold Estes

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now. He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year.  People meeting me for the first time don’t believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos’n Mate.  Now I live in a “rest home” located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can’t figure out what country you are the president of.

You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

“We’re no longer a Christian nation”
“America is arrogant” - (Your wife even
announced to the world, “America is mean-spirited.”  Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I’d say shame on the both of you, but I don’t think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you.  To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said, “America hasn’t lived up to her ideals.”  Which ones did you mean?

Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British?

Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War?

I hope you didn’t mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don’t think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination.  You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American.  If you don’t, I’ll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue.

You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don’t want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight?

You don’t mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don’t want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing.  I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you’re the Commander-in-Chief now, son.  Do your job.  When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him.  But if you’re not in this fight to win, then get out.  The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you’re thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You’re not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy.  That’s not our greatest threat.  Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don’t want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Sincerely,

Harold B. Estes

When a 95 year old hero of the “the Greatest Generation” stands up and speaks out like this, I think we owe it to him to send his words to as many Americans as we can.

Perils of the Internet - Born 1776, Died 2008

Note: I did not vote for Obama or McCain.  I present this information because I found it interesting.Below are two set of information.

The first is from an email I recently received.  It pretty much bashes President Obama and the 2008 elections.

The second is a result of some research I did.

My point in posting this on my blog is to make you aware that you should never believe all that you read on the Internet.  The Internet is a great place to bash people, ideas, etc or a great place to hype up people, ideas, etc.  Before passing on something that degrades someone or something, do a little homework or send it to me and I will do the homework for you.

This is very sobering…you may want to read it more than once.

Professor Joseph Olson of

Hamline

University

School of Law,   St. Paul ,   Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning  last November’s Presidential election:

a) Number of States won by:
Obama: 19
McCain: 29

b) Square miles of land won by:
Obama: 580,000
McCain: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by:
Obama: 127 million
McCain: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Obama: 13.2
McCain: 2.1Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly  the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.  Obama territory mostly  encompassed those citizens living in low income  tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the

USA in fewer than five years.  If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message. If you are not, then help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.********************************************  Now for the updated facts:Browse > Home / Ask FactCheck / Unreported Stats Unreported StatsJanuary 5, 2009

Notice that only in the states of Alaska and Oklahoma: All counties were won by McCain/Palin.The original posting with this information is below this Newsweek article at this link: http://www.newsweek.com/id/163337.Full Answer  First, Joseph Olson is a professor at Hamline (not Hemline) University School of Law in

St. Paul, Minn. None of what appears in this e-mail was written by him. He has been denying authorship of this old hoax since earlier versions first cropped up after the 2000 election. Most recently he posted a disclaimer about the 2008 version on his university profile page:

Olson: There is an e-mail floating around the internet dealing with the 2008 Obama/McCain election and the 2000 Bush/Gore election, remarks of a Scottish philosopher named Alexander Tyler, etc. Part of it is attributed to me. It is entirely BOGUS as to my authorship. I’ve been trying to kill it since December 2000. For details see: <http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/tyler.asp.More important, the “unreported stats” listed in this e-mail are all wrong:

  • President-elect Barack Obama actually carried 28 states (and the District of Columbia), not 20 as claimed in the message. Sen. John McCain carried only 22 states, not 30.
  • The total area of states won by Obama is actually 1,483,702 square miles, significantly more than the 580,000 stated by the e-mail. McCain’s states have an area of 2,310,315 square miles, not the 2,427,000 claimed.
  • The population of counties carried by Obama is just under 183 million, not the 127 million claimed. McCain carried counties with a total population of just under 119 million, far fewer than claimed in this message.
  • The murder rate for counties carried by Obama was 6.56 per 100,000 inhabitants, less than half the rate claimed in the message. The rate for counties carried by McCain was 3.60 per 100,000, much higher than claimed in the message.

Our CalculationsWe calculated county populations and murder rates using official data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s “USA County Data Files.” We obtained nearly complete county-by-county election results from the Web site of University of Michigan professor Mark Newman, who extracted them from USA Today’s election Web site as of Nov. 16. We adjusted these figures only to resolve ties in three counties (more recent figures show two of these counties going for Obama, one for McCain). It is possible that a few counties will change hands when all official results are reported.Population figures are Census estimates for 2007. Murder rates are calculated from the number of murders and non-negligent homicides by county for 2005, the most recent figures Census provides, and population estimates for 2005.Origins of a HoaxThis hoax goes back eight years, when an earlier version began to circulate following the bitterly disputed 2000 presidential election. Snopes.com, a site devoted to debunking urban myths, took that one apart at the time, noting that Prof. Olson denied authorship and that some factual claims didn’t check out. A new version went around for a time after the 2004 election, and whoever wrote the 2008 version of the e-mail didn’t even bother to make up new “stats,” but simply substituted the words “Democrats” and “Republicans” where the names “Gore” and “Bush” had appeared. The origin of the population and square-mile figures used in the 2008 version, in fact, is this USA Today map of the 2000 election results. It shows 143 million people in counties won by George W. Bush and 127 million in counties won by Al Gore, for example. Of course elections are won by electoral votes not counties won. And the fact is that in 2008 the counties carried by Obama were far more populous than those carried by McCain. The crime figures, however, were no more accurate in the original than in the 2008 version. They were debunked by Snopes which put the actual county-by-county murder rate at 6.5 for counties supporting Gore, in 2000, and 4.1 for counties supporting Bush. Each of those figures is a far cry from the 13.2 and 2.1 figures used in the original 2000 e-mail, and they’re simply repeated in the most recent version and attributed to Obama and McCain counties. One original note in the 2008 version of the e-mail is the line added at the end: “Notice that only in the states of Alaska and

Oklahoma: All counties were won by McCain/Palin.” But even that is a bit misleading. McCain and his vice presidential running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, did win all counties in Oklahoma and did carry the state of Alaska, but

Alaska doesn’t tally votes by county.
Where Did It Come From?References to the original e-mail were spotted as far back as November 2000. Terry Krepel, writing for ConWebWatch, a Web site “dedicated to analysis and critique of conservative ‘new media’,” mentioned two articles that appeared on the news site NewsMax.com in 2000 citing information from the e-mail.Dave Hamrick, in his article for

Georgia’s Fayette Citizen, offers an explanation of how Prof. Olson’s name came to be tied to the bogus murder rate figures. He asked Olson about them and discovered that the e-mail wasn’t Olson’s work:

Hamrick, Jan. 17, 2001: But in response to my e-mail, Olson said the “research” was attributed to him erroneously. He said it came from a Sheriff Jay Printz in

Montana. I e-mailed Sheriff Printz, and guess what? He didn’t do the research either, and didn’t remember who had e-mailed it to him.In other words, he got the same legend e-mailed to him and passed it on to Olson without checking it out, and when Olson passed it on, someone thought it sounded better if a law professor had done the research, and so it grew.Who knows where it originally came from, but it’s just not true. We can’t be certain with whom, or precisely when, the message originated, but Hamrick’s observation, that Olson forwarded a version of the e-mail he had received, may explain how Olson’s name became attached to it.-D’Angelo Gore and Brooks JacksonSourcesSnopes.com. “The Fall of the Athenian Republic,” 18 Dec. 2008.Kreppel, Terry. “NewsMax’s Urban Legend.” ConWebWatch, 7 April 2004.Hardy, David. “Request regarding Joe Olson quotation.” Of Arms & Law (Weblog), 1 Oct. 2006.Hamrick, Dave. “Don’t believe, or pass on, all you read.” Fayette Citizen, 17 Jan. 2001.

Free Training Material on Making Money on the Internet

Free Training Material on Making Money on the Internet

If you are or if you have ever thought about making money using the power of the Internet then you must read this.  If you only surf and look up information then this will not interest you.

As I may have mentioned previously, I am on many email lists and I enjoy learning, perhaps too much.  When I come across something that I feel is worth sharing, I do.

This dumb Dutch dude, his words, not mine, is sharing his system on how to conquer any niche market and make whatever amount of money you desire.  Below you can see what he is giving away for free.  Actually, the site says you must pay $1.  However, when I went to pay my $1, it actually charged me zero $$.  Of course, there is a catch.

You are automatically enrolled in his membership site which cost $7 every two weeks and you get the first two weeks FREE.  His goal is to get you so excited and feeling “success is about to overcome you” that you will stay with him for many months.

What I do in these cases is mark my calendar for one day less than the deadline to cancel and at that point decide whether or not to continue.

I must admit that I have only read parts of two of his modules, just enough to realize quality.

Since he has hinted to a limited time frame [Note: most marketers use this because people are natural procrastinators and usually do not take immediate action.], I wanted to get this out to you ASAP.

Visit here http://bit.ly/6NA9Fq to get started.  Yes, that is a ClickBank affiliate link which means if you end up staying with Tim’s membership site or you buy any of his other products, I will earn a commission.

However, you will thank me for sharing this with you when you study what Tim has to offer you.

Tim’s actually giving away a useful marketing course.  Maybe that’s why he’s so successful.  http://bit.ly/6NA9Fq   Act Now!

That is what I posted on Twitter and FaceBook and within minutes I already had 4 hits to the site.  I didn’t realize the power of those two sites.  Perhaps I need to use them more often.

Here is a summary of what he is giving away:

Module A
 CPA Game
 Instant Product Playground
Module B
 Extreme Landing Pages
                 Getting Online

Module C
 Google Resurrection
 Hidden MSN Code
 Play the Search Engines

Bonus Modules
 Affiliate Training
 Paint Trick
 Patented traffic Formula
 Powerful Blogs in Minutes
 Veni Vidi Copy
I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but you might want to try this: After you sign up for more information in his drop down box, go to exit his site by clicking the “X” in your browser.  You should get a sign saying “WAIT!!”  Follow the instructions and you will have another signup page.  Sign up here again.

Then go back to the that page, you may have to go to the original page, do he wait thing again, in order to get to your second “WAIT!!” sign.

You will get to another of his great products for free when you fill out that form.

At least that is how it worked for me.

*************************************
Note: This just out – a must read to better understand what this is all about.

I should have told you about this sooner.  I apologize.

Last week I discovered Tim Bekker, a very successful Dutchman.  He has literally given away his “Stupid Simple System’ of making money on the Internet.

By “given away” I mean FREE.

He is doing this so you can see the quality of his work because he is now promoting his new program, “WhiteHat CopyCat System” which will go live Tuesday at 12 noon EST.

It will eventually sell for $77 and the first 500 lucky people will get it for $47 before it bumps up to $67 and then $77.

If nothing else, get his “Stupid Simple System” for free now.  You’ll kick yourself silly if you don’t because it is unlike any other marketing material I have read.

What The WhiteHat Copycat IS NOT!

If you are looking for another marketing course or marketing video series - you are not in the right place.

If you are looking for another PPC course about AdWords, AdCenter, Yahoo search marketing - you are absolutely not on the right place.

If you are looking for yet another Internet Marketing software tool that can simplify your marketing efforts - you are not in the right place at all.

If you are looking for another media buying course - JUST STOP reading this right now.

Let me ask you a few questions:

What good is a marketing or video course without any actual content like templates to implement your new strategies or to put it to work?

Why would you need a PPC course if you have no clue which products to promote or which niches to hit or when you have no money to pay for the traffic at all?

Why do you need cool traffic analytics tool if you have never received one SINGLE visitor to your site?

Have you ever seen the minimum amounts that media buying companies charge to activate traffic campaigns at all?

Do you have a few thousand left to gamble with?

Forget paying for anything else - I’ll show you how to get free traffic.

With WhiteHat Copycat there are NO open ends and you don’t need any money to get things going. It’s a completely NO-BRAINER for you. You don’t need any research tools or budget at all.

You should be informed about the launch on Tuesday, 1-26-10 at 12 noon EST.  If not email me at gary@garygile.com and I will send you the sales page and order link.
